HBO: ‘Barry’ Now Available for Download, GoT Music in the Works

HBO is releasing Season 1 of the critically acclaimed dark comedy series, Barry for digital download today.

Barry (Hader) plays a depressed hitman from the Midwest who follows his “mark” into an acting class while on a job in Los Angeles and has a career epiphany when he discovers the world of theater acting. Instantly drawn to the class and students, Barry is eager to leave his lonely, cold-hearted job behind, but as he attempts to start a new life in LA, his criminal ties won’t let him walk away, forcing him to find a balance between both worlds.

Season 1 was co-created and executively produced by Bill Hader and Alex Berg (Silicon Valley). Cast regulars also include Henry Winkler (Royal Pains), Stephen Root (True Blood), Sarah Goldberg (Hindsight), Glenn Fleshler (True Detective), and Anthony Carrigan (Gotham).

The download includes the World of Barry extra in which Henry Winkler and the cast introduce the show’s quirky characters and eight Inside the Episodes featurettes where Hader, Berg, cast, and crew dissect each episode.

No word on when the series will be available on disc.

HBO also announced that it has partnered with Columbia Records to produce an album of Game of Thrones-inspired music to celebrate the final season.

Columbia described the project as an “officially licensed album of music inspired by Game of Thrones set to accompany the eagerly anticipated final season of the award-winning drama series, premiering in 2019.”

The soundtrack will feature songs inspired by the hit series and will showcase “artists from diverse musical genres.” No specifics were announced.

Viewed in more than 170 countries, Game of Throne is one of the most successful franchise in HBO history and winner of 38 Emmy awards to date.
