Get Ready for the Star Wars Blitz

Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the second film in the Star Wars sequel trilogy and the eighth chapter in the Star Wars saga, opens in U.S. theaters on December 15, 2017. Get ready for the marketing blitz.

Lucasfilm today announced that it has teamed with Vizio, Royal Philips, Verizon, General Mills, Nissan, and Christian Louboutin to launch a global promotional campaign.

"This film will be blazing new ground in the Star Wars saga, and we feel our partners have designed some truly compelling experiences to match," said Lynwen Brennan, general manager of Lucasfilm.

The Skywalker saga continues in The Last Jedi as the heroes of The Force Awakens join the galactic legends in an epic adventure that unlocks age-old mysteries of the Force and shocking revelations of the past.

The film stars Mark Hamill, the late Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Kelly Marie Tran, Laura Dern, and Benicio Del Toro.

Fan alert: The internet is abuzz with word that a second trailer for the film will debut on October 9th during Monday Night Football. Here's the first trailer:
