Upgrading to Dolby Atmos, DTS:X or Auro-3D surround sound and thinking of installing ceiling speakers but worried about the effort involved?

French speaker maker Focal has created the “Easy Quick Install” system for its new 300 Series of two-way wall/ceiling speakers to simplify installation. Each speaker consists of a mounting frame and the speaker itself. Once the hole is cut in the ceiling (or wall), you attach the frame to the drywall using integral mounting brackets and then snap the speaker mechanism in place using a quarter-turn locking mechanism. No tools required.

Three size speakers are offered in the new line: The 8-inch 300ICW-8 ($799 each), 6-inch 300ICW-6 ($699), and 4-inch 300ICW-4 ($599), which require between 5 and 3.75 inches of clearance for mounting and come with a square and circular magnetic grille to accommodate wall and ceiling installations. The 300ICW-8 and 300ICW-6 models also have a three-position (–3dB/0dB/ +3dB) treble switch.
