DTS Adds New Features to Play-Fi Streaming App

DTS has announced a software update for its DTS Play-Fi streaming app that integrates features from the recently introduced Play-Fi Headphones app and adds several other capabilities, including a previous-sessions memory.

With the new headphones capability, content playing on Play-Fi-compatible gear can now be streamed via Wi-Fi to up to four sets of headphones.

The updated app, which is available for iOS and Android devices, is now able to recall recent audio sessions so listeners can quickly pick up where they left off. Tapping a Recents icon recalls the previous audio source as well as the rooms in which music was playing with volume levels.

Another update enables app users to save the details of an audio session as a preset that can be instantly recalled. Tapping on the new Presets button recalls the streaming service or internet radio station that was playing along with linked speakers, volume levels, and repeat/random settings.

Other new features include the ability to create and edit a queue for a connected media server when selecting music tracks and albums. App users can also now create and edit a global play queue that applies to music from a phone/tablet or media server and across track-based streaming services.
