Disney+ Launches on Samsung Smart TVs

Owners of Samsung smart TVs now have a front-row seat and quick onscreen access to the new Disney+ streaming service that went live today.

The highly anticipated service supports 4K Ultra HD and is available on the home screen of 2016 through 2019 model-year smart TVs from Samsung. Starting today, the Disney+ app icon will appear as the first option in Previews under the Recent heading. New TVs connecting to the internet for the first time will highlight Disney+ within the Apps Store “Recommended section.”

For $6.99/month Disney+ subscribers can peruse Disney’s extensive library of films and TV series, which includes content from Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic as well as a number of new, original feature films and TV shows. Movies and TV shows can be downloaded or streamed to up to four devices at once.

A bundle that also includes Hulu and ESPN+ is available for $12.99/month.

Samsung’s 2019 smart TV models have a Universal Guide that provides unified browsing across all sources with customized recommendations. 2019 QLED models also support voice control via Samsung's Bixby platform.
