Denon Announces $999 Receiver for X Series

Denon has announced plans to add a $999 4K-ready 7.2-channel model to its X Series lineup of AV receivers in July.

The AVR-X3300W, which joins the recently introduced AVR-X1300W and AVR-X2300W receivers, is equipped with Dolby Atmos surround sound for 5.1.2 setups and is upgradable to DTS:X via a free firmware update that will be available later this year.

Rated power at 0.08 percent THD is 7 x 105 watts and video features include support for HDMI 2.0a and HDCP 2.2, 4K/Ultra HD video up to 60Hz, 4:4:4 chroma sampling, high dynamic range (HDR), and BT.2020 pass-through on all inputs. The receiver has two HDMI outputs and eight HDMI inputs, one of which is on the front panel, a Zone 2 pre-out, and an RS232 port for integration with home automation systems.

The AVR-X3300W is certified by the Imaging Science Foundation for video quality and offers a full suite of ISFccc video-calibration controls. Other highlights include the Audyssey MultEQ XT32 automatic room acoustic measurement and correction system with Dynamic EQ and other features, built-in Wi-Fi and streaming via Bluetooth and AirPlay, support for high-resolution audio files, and access to Internet Radio, Pandora, Spotify Connect, and SiriusXM.

The AVR-X3300W offers “advanced video processing with 4K scaling for 4K sources” and can be controlled via Denon’s AVR Remote App for iOS and Android devices and Kindle Fire.
