Christie Launches Eclipse G3 Six‑DLP ‘True‑HDR’ Projector for CEDIA Debut

Six‑DLP RGB pure‑laser projector claims “true HDR” with up to 20,000,000:1 sequential contrast; debuting at CEDIA Expo (Sept. 3–6, Denver) in SR7 as part of a home‑theater system valued at over $1 million.
Christie has announced Eclipse G3, a six‑DLP projector the company says delivers “true HDR” performance for fully light‑controlled rooms where deep black levels and high contrast are priorities. The projector will debut at CEDIA Expo in Sound Room 7 with Seymour‑Screen Excellence; Christie values the theater system at over US$1 million.
Headline specs include a rated 30,000 ANSI lumens, up to 20,000,000:1 sequential contrast, support for 4K/120 Hz 2D, and active 3D at up to 60 Hz per eye at native 4K. Christie also cites long‑life RGB pure‑laser illumination and a more streamlined, easier‑to‑install chassis; the company says G3 can maintain full brightness for a stated 50,000 hours.
“Eclipse G3 makes ‘video black’ a thing of the past… It can display true black without any residual light for the richest visual experience in fully light‑controlled environments,” said Larry Paul, executive director, Technology and Custom Solutions, Christie.
Positioning and applications
Christie positions Eclipse G3 for ultra‑high‑end residential theaters as well as venues like planetariums and themed attractions. The company further asserts that its sequential‑contrast spec is “100×” Rec. 2100 contrast performance.

In SR10, Christie and Alcons Audio will demonstrate a CP4425‑RGB pure‑laser cinema projector using Christie’s VDR (Video Dynamic Response) processing. VDR analyzes every incoming video frame in real time to modulate laser output for contrast, black‑level detail, and power savings while preserving creative intent, according to Christie.
Christie LED will appear in the ASCENDO booth (#4312), including a 4×9 array of MicroTiles LED at 0.75 mm pixel pitch (24‑bit internal processing; up to 4K@120 Hz) and a 163‑inch, 0.9 mm Core Series III UHD wall. Static displays will include the M 4K25‑RGB, 4K1600‑JS (Jazz Series) 1DLP, and 4K860‑iS (Inspire Series) projectors.
