The company says that its customers are able to bid immediately in more than eight categories of "rare and unusual" videos.

According to a company statement, "customers will experience an authentic auction event, finding great bargains on new, unusual, and rare videos. During the auction, consumers set their own prices. The person with the highest bid at the close of bidding gets the goods."

The company also claims that it guarantees buyers a "safe auction experience." According to Videoflicks.com, their Auctions Guarantee covers purchases of up to $200 in the event that a buyer does not receive what a seller promised. "This is not insurance, there is no deductible, and there is no third party to deal with; it's a simple guarantee." In addition, the company says that staff at Videoflicks.com directly inspect all videos before they are shipped to the buyer in an effort to ensure a safe online auction community.

Videoflicks.com founder and CEO Michael Kavanagh states that "whether you're a professional retailer or an individual with one item to sell, we know of no other way to reach such a large customer base of rare-video buyers." The company says that to commemorate the opening of Videoflicks.com Auctions, all first-time winning bidders will receive a $10 Videoflicks.com gift certificate.
