Atlantic Technology Rolls Out its First Earphones

Atlantic Technology today announced the availability of its first earphones.

The FS-HAL1 earphones ($199) are the first of four Hi-Res Audio-certified models and feature detachable memory cables designed to wrap around the ears and a three-driver-per-ear design that mates a tiny graphene woofer with a dual balanced armature supporting midrange and high-frequency drivers.

Described as tangle free, the 4-foot Y cable is made with “20 core, 0.085 strand” oxygen-free-copper and has an Android/iOS-compatible in-line remote control with buttons for volume and talk. The cable attaches to each earphone via a gold-plated MMCX connector that locks firmly in place and has a gold-plated minijack at the other end; a gold-plated quarter-inch phone-plug adapter is included.

The earphones are available in red, white, blue, or black and come with a hard-shell travel case and extra ear tips to help ensure a snug and comfortable fit. When in place, the earphones are said to provide up to 25 dB of noise isolation.

The standard FS-HAL1 earphones include a 3.5mm minijack connector but an iOS-compatible version with a Lightning connector is available for $239.

Impedance is rated as 32 ohms and sensitivity as 104 dB/mW (±4 dB).
