Acer Ships $700 Wireless DLP Projector

Acer America has announced that its new $700 wireless DLP projector is now shipping.

The LED-lit H6535i receives video wirelessly from a smartphone or PC when paired with a supplied dongle and is capable of projecting a 1920 x 1200 high-def image up to 25 feet (diagonal) from a distance of up to 36 feet with 3,500 lumens brightness, according to the company.

The projector supports the “HDMI over Wi-Fi” Miracast standard for “quick and seamless screen mirroring without installing an extra app” and is equipped with HDMI, VGA and (two) USB connections for sharing photos and home videos from Android devices.

Other highlights include a 16:9 native aspect ratio, 1.2x optical zoom, 1.8x digital zoom, a built-in speaker/amplifier, and an audio input plus VGA and audio outputs.

Lamp life is rated at 5,000 hours with normal use and twice that when run in Economy mode. An ExtremeEco mode is said to extend life to up to 15,000 hours.

In addition to the wireless projection kit, the projector ships with a VGA cable and remote control.
