Acer: ‘World’s Smallest 3000 Lumens Laser 4K Projector’ Now Available in U.S.

Acer America has announced U.S. availability of “the world’s smallest 4K Ultra HD (UHD) 3000 lumens laser projector,” designed to deliver “laser-quality visuals in a wide range of environments,” including home theater.

The VL7860 projector ($4,000) supports high dynamic range (HDR) content and has a rated brightness of up to 3,000 ANSI lumens in addition to dynamically adjusting lamp power to “optimum black levels,” according to the company.

Leveraging the sRGB standard, the VL7860 is said to eliminate deviation in color reproduction and supports a wide color gamut that is 110 percent of the Rec. 709 color space, according to Acer. The projector is also compatible with is the Rec. 2020 color space.

Features include ISFccc (certified calibration mode) for optimizing color and brightness, 1.6-times zoom, vertical lens shift, and AcuMotion frame interpolation, which calculates and generates intermediate frames, inserting them into existing ones for “seamless motion.”

The projector has two built-in speakers, each powered by a 5-watt amplifier, and provides two HDMI inputs along with VGA and MHL connections.

In addition to reducing power consumption, Acer’s Eco mode is said to extend lamp life up to 30,000 hours. The projector is covered by a limited one-year parts and labor warranty.
