Dolby announced that five new Hollywood features, including the first two titles from Twentieth Century Fox, will be released in Dolby Cinema bringing the total number of theatrical releases that combine high-dynamic range (HDR) images and Dolby Atmos surround sound to 13.

The Perfect Guy (Sony Pictures), which opened September 11, will be joined by the following titles, all of which likely be among the first movies to appear in the new Ultra HD Blu-ray format expected to arrive in late 2015 or early 2016:

  • Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (Twentieth Century Fox), September 18
  • The Martian (Twentieth Century Fox), October 2
  • Pan (Warner Bros. Pictures), October 9
  • In the Heart of the Sea (Warner Bros. / Village Roadshow Pictures), December 11

With the addition of Fox, seven studios are releasing or planning to release titles in Dolby Cinema: Disney, Paramount, Sony, Fox, Universal, Lionsgate, and Warner Bros.

Previously announced Dolby Cinema films include the upcoming releases Everest (Universal), The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 (Lionsgate), and The Jungle Book (Disney) as well as the recent features Inside Out (Disney/Pixar), Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation (Paramount), Tomorrowland (Disney), Pixels (Sony), and San Andreas (Warner Bros.).

Earlier this year AMC has announced plans to equip some of its Prime venues for Dolby Cinema over the next several years. To date, there are seven locations in Georgia, Missouri, Texas, California, Kansas, and New York.
