In "Eagle Eye", Jerry Shaw and Rachel Holloman are two strangers thrown together by a mysterious phone call from a woman they have never met. Threatening their lives and their family, she pushes Jerry and Rachel into a series of increasingly dangerous situations using the technology of everyday life to track and control their every move. As the situation escalates, these two ordinary people become the country's most wanted fugitives, who must now work together to discover what is really happening. Fighting for their lives, they become pawns of a faceless enemy who seems to have limitless power to manipulate everything they do.

One of the better summer action films makes its way to Blu-ray just in time for the holidays. This one got hit or miss reviews but the film is relentless in its action and pacing and makes for a great popcorn action/thriller. The techno vibe is high in this one and I loved the twists and turns the film delivers. Definitely one to give a look if you didn’t catch it in theaters.

This is a great looking HD presentation with plenty of rich detail and great dimension. Contrast levels are pushed to the limit with inky blacks and slightly clipped whites. The color palette is rich in gold tones and really adds a nice style to the imagery. Fine object detail is exceptional and depth of image is strong throughout.

The soundtrack is presented in lossless Dolby TrueHD 5.1 and makes the most of the surround soundstage. Deep bass extension adds a nice ominous touch to the film’s score and there is plenty of infrasonic activity in the action scenes. Surrounds are used aggressively to put you in the chaos and I loved the sense of atmosphere the mix provides. Dialogue is balanced perfectly within the mix and balance in the soundstage is top notch.

All of the extras are in HD for this one. You get a nice selection of production features that look at the locales and tech of the film. Some interviews and behind the scenes footage is also included. A gag reel and deleted scenes along with the theatrical trailer round out the package.

This was one of my favorite popcorn films of 2008 and Dreamworks has done an outstanding job with this Blu-ray presentation. Highly recommended.
