Definitive Technology Atmos-Enabled BP-8060ST Speaker System Review Test Bench
Tower Sensitivity: 88.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz
Center Sensitivity: 89 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz
Elevation Module Sensitivity: 84.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz
This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the BP-8060ST towers (purple trace), CS-8060HD center channel (green trace), and A60 elevation module surround (red trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured with grilles at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes.
The BP-8060ST’s listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +2.66/–2.26 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. The –3dB point is at 39 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 36 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.68 ohms at 338 Hz and a phase angle of –50.34 degrees at 213 Hz.
The CS-8060HD’s listening-window response measures +3.56/–2.15 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +4.23/–2.09 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3dB point is at 40 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 37 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 5.26 ohms at 295 Hz and a phase angle of –45.38 degrees at 183 Hz.
The A60’s driver-axis response measures +4.15/–5.57 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3dB point is at 136 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 113 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 6.91 ohms at 302 Hz and a phase angle of –42.08 degrees at 179 Hz.—MJP
