Andover Audio Spin System Integrated Audio System
(October/November) Read Review

Following on the success of its unique SpinBase integrated speaker system/slash turntable stand, Andover Audio kicked the concept up a few notches with the Spin System, a complete matched component system featuring a SpinBase, SpinDeck turntable, SpinSub subwoofer, and SpinStand rack to neatly hold everything. "I highly recom- mend the Spin System to anyone seeking to put together a complete hi-fi rig for just above $1,000," said MT in his review. $1,146 (as tested), andoveraudio.com

Finalist:

THX Onyx DAC/Headphone Amplifier
(October/November) Read Review

It was a surprise to learn that THX, a company associated with home theater, would release a portable DAC/headphone amplifier as its first THX-branded product. What came as no surprise was that it impressed with "dynamic and spatially precise sound," in the words of reviewer AG. Beyond that, the Onyx proved a feature-packed offering, with support for PCM up to 32-bit/384kHz, DSD, and MQA rendering. $199, thx.com

It won't ever take the place of my Serviio DLNA server if I can't stream the media to several devices on my network. It's easier to manage my library on a single computer and have something like a Roku or Blu-ray player that supports DLNA on every TV. flappy bird
