The <A HREF="http://www.cema.org">Consumer Electronics Manufacturers Association</A> (CEMA) this week expressed concern over cable provider TCI's plans to transmit only signals that fall below the threshold of HDTV.

The Ultra HD designation refers to a display resolution of at least eight million active pixels (3,840 x 2,160), which is four times the number of pixels found in standard HDTVs.

Chinese consumer electronics giant TCL (The Creative Life) today announced the 3600 Series of 720p LED/LCD TVs, which kicks off with 32- and 39-inch special edition models endorsed by professional surfer Erica Hosseini.

TCL has announced the pricing and availability specifics for its 2023 lineup of 4K HDR, QLED, and mini-LED TVs, initially showcased at CES earlier this year, as well as the S2 and S3 entry-level HDTVs.

The company's diverse range includes six series spread across two distinct classes—S Class and Q Class—with models varying in size from compact 32-inch screens to expansive 98-inch displays at prices ranging from $170 all the way up to $10,000.

TCL, unlike several other major TV brands, is actually displaying its latest and greatest TVs at CES 2022. While remaining true to its Roku TV roots, with forthcoming TVs featuring the built-in streaming platform, the company will also sell TVs with built-in Google TV in 2022. TCL also continues to push the bigscreen TV envelope with its XL Collection, having just launched a new 98-inch 4K-resolution Mini-LED-backlit QLED model that can be purchased now for under $8,000.
