This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the F208 L/R (purple trace), B112 subwoofer (blue trace), C208 center channel (green trace), and M106 surround (red trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured with grilles at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes.

The F208’s listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +2.38/–1.09 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. The –3dB point is at 34 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 26 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.31 ohms at 98 Hz and a phase angle of –49.57 degrees at 42 Hz.

The C208’s listening-window response measures +1.75/–3.60 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +1.77/–3.71 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3dB point is at 51 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 42 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.25 ohms at 93 Hz and a phase angle of –26.96 degrees at 57 Hz.

The M106’s listening-window response measures +0.80/–2.45 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3dB point is at 60 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 54 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 5.35 ohms at 183 Hz and a phase angle of –59.73 degrees at 106 Hz.

The B112’s close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3dB point is at 20 Hz and the –6dB point is at 18 Hz with the Extended mode engaged. The upper –3dB point is at 189 Hz with the Crossover selector set to Flat Response.—MJP
