Paradigm Persona 3F Speaker System Review Test Bench
L/R Sensitivity: 89.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz
Center Sensitivity: 89 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz
Surround Sensitivity: 89 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz
This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the Persona 3F L/R (purple trace), Persona Sub subwoofer (blue trace), Persona C center channel (green trace), and Persona B surround (red trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes.
The Persona 3F’s listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +4.83/–2.12 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. The –3dB point is at 49 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 37 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 3.49 ohms at 16.1 kHz and a phase angle of –55.26 degrees at 8.2 kHz.
The Persona C’s listening-window response measures +2.85/–2.32 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +3.04/–2.37 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3dB point is at 49 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 40 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.42 ohms at 141 Hz and a phase angle of –60.68 degrees at 98 Hz.
The Persona B’s listening-window response measures +2.38/–5.20 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3dB point is at 68 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 57 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.70 ohms at 168 Hz and a phase angle of –53.22 degrees at 18.3 kHz.
The Persona Sub’s close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3dB point is at 22 Hz and the –6dB point is at 19 Hz. The upper –3dB point is at 150 Hz with the Cut-Off Frequency control set to maximum.—MJP
