The BP620 passed the majority of our benchmark tests with flying colors, but its DVD performance is subpar. In both the 3:2 and 2:2 standard-definition tests, the player couldn’t lock onto the cadence, and there was plenty of moiré in the stands during the race car sequence with the ABT video benchmark suite. Furthermore, the DVD upscaling is very soft and can’t match the performance of higher-priced players.—DV
