Two channels driven continuously into 8-ohm loads:
0.2% distortion at 72.5 watts; 1% distortion at 77.8 watts

Two channels driven into 4-ohm loads:
0.2% distortion at 109.5 watts; 1% distortion at 130.6 watts

This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the PS-FQ45 L/R (purple trace), PS-WQ45 subwoofer (blue trace), PS-CQ45 center channel (green trace), and PS-RQ45 surround (red trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured with grills at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes.

The PS-FQ45's listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +2.35/–4.40 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. The –3dB point is at 146 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 131 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.76 ohms at 413 Hz and a phase angle of –30.33 degrees at 208 Hz. Sensitivity averages 81 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz.

The PS-CQ45's listening-window response measures +3.43/–5.12 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. An average of axial and (+/–15-degree) horizontal responses measures +3.21/–5.19 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3dB point is at 146 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 131 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.64 ohms at 374 Hz and a phase angle of –24.41 degrees at 195 Hz. Sensitivity averages 81 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz.

The PS-RQ45's listening-window response measures +2.02/–6.70 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3dB point is at 146 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 131 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.76 ohms at 351 Hz and a phase angle of –24.92 degrees at 203 Hz. Sensitivity averages 81 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz.

The PS-WQ45's close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3dB point is at 54 Hz and the –6dB point is at 48 Hz. The upper –3dB point is at 96 Hz.

Crosstalk at 1 kHz driving 2.83 volts into an 8-ohm load was –80.83 dB left to right and –80.72 dB right to left. THD+N from the amplifier was less than 0.171% at 1 kHz when driving 2.83 volts into an 8-ohm load. The signal-to-noise ratio with 2.83 volts driving an 8-ohm load from 10 Hz to 24 kHz with "A" weighting was –78.71 dBrA.—MJP
