L/R Sensitivity: 87 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz

Center Sensitivity: 86.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz

Surround Sensitivity: 86.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz

This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the Noble F L/R (purple trace), Noble SUB subwoofer (blue trace), Noble C center channel (green trace), and Noble S surround (red trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured with grilles at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes.

The Noble F's listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +4.76/–4.30 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. The –3-dB point is at 68 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 58 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.35 ohms at 1.1 kHz and a phase angle of –36.98 degrees at 96 Hz.

The Noble C's listening-window response measures +5.34/–4.26 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +4.02/–5.58 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3-dB point is at 106 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 91 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.56 ohms at 9.9 kHz and a phase angle of –16.96 degrees at 179 Hz.

The Noble S's listening-window response measures +4.62/–4.43 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3-dB point is at 107 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 89 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.89 ohms at 9.9 kHz and a phase angle of –24.99 degrees at 174 Hz.

The Noble SUB's close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3-dB point is at 46 Hz and the –6-dB point is at 42 Hz. The upper –3-dB point is at 98 Hz with the FREQ control set to its maximum of 180 Hz. Please note that the response begins to fall off above 70 Hz and therefore is not flat at our reference frequency of 80 Hz.—MJP
