PSB Image T6 Speaker System HT Labs Measures

HT Labs Measures

L/R Sensitivity: 91 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz

Center Sensitivity: 92 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz

Surround Sensitivity: 91 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz

This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the Image T6 L/R (purple trace), Image C5 center channel (green trace), Image B6 surround (red trace), and SubSonic 5i subwoofer (blue trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured with grilles at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes.

The Image T6’s listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +1.88/–1.74 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. The –3-dB point is at 48 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 41 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 3.92 ohms at 413 Hz and a phase angle of –59.85 degrees at 69 Hz.

The Image C5’s listening-window response measures +1.67/–4.12 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +0.90/–4.60 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3-dB point is at 72 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 53 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.69 ohms at 186 Hz and a phase angle of –53.99 degrees at 96 Hz.

The Image B6’s listening-window response measures +0.83/–3.75 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3-dB point is at 64 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 53 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.36 ohms at 172 Hz and a phase angle of –53.32 degrees at 91 Hz.

The SubSonic 5i’s close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3-dB point is at 35 Hz and the –6-dB point is at 32 Hz. The upper –3-dB point is at 132 Hz with the Crossover Bypass switch set to Active.—MJP
