Monitor Audio Silver 10 Speaker System Test Bench

L/R Sensitivity: 88.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz

Center Sensitivity: 89 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz

Surround Sensitivity: 88 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz

This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the Silver 10 L/R (purple trace), Silver W-12 subwoofer (blue trace), Silver Centre center channel (green trace), and Silver 2 surround (red trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured (with the grilles on) at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes.

The Silver 10’s listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +1.54/–1.91 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3-dB point is at 46 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 36 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.51 ohms at 118 Hz and a phase angle of –58.92° at 74 Hz.

The Silver Centre’s listening-window response measures +1.35/–3.95 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. An average of axial and +/–15° horizontal responses measures +1.96/–5.10 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3-dB point is at 77 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 63 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.90 ohms at 186 Hz and a phase angle of –34.83° at 107 Hz.

The Silver 2’s listening-window response measures +1.08/–3.51 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3-dB point is at 53 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 43 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 5.75 ohms at 154 Hz and a phase angle of –47.68° at 96 Hz.

The Silver W-12’s close-miked response in Music mode, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3-dB point is at 29 Hz and the –6-dB point is at 26 Hz. The upper –3-dB point is at 122 Hz using the LFE input.—Mark J. Peterson

Why didn't you at least compared the bi-/dipole speakers in this series? I think they are far better for movie experiences than the direct radiators. I have the RXFX from the former edition of the silvers and it has been a welcome change to my direct radiating speakers.
