This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the CM 4 L/R (purple trace), ASW 2500 subwoofer (blue trace), CM C center channel (green trace), and CM 2 surround (red trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes.

On-axis response of the CM 4 measures +2.14/-3.98 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. The -3dB point is at 65 Hz, and the -6dB point is at 51 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 2.80 ohms at 15.0 kHz and a phase angle of -68.52 degrees at 3.6 kHz. Sensitivity averages 90.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz.

On-axis response of the CM C measures +3.33/-3.31 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. An average of axial and (+/-15 degree) horizontal responses measures +1.40/-6.79 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The -3dB point is at 76 Hz, and the s6dB point is at 61 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 2.99 ohms at 15.2 kHz and a phase angle of -64.19 degrees at 3.7 kHz. Sensitivity averages 88.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz.

On-axis response of the CM 2 measures +2.31/-3.58 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The -3dB point is at 129 Hz, and the -6dB point is at 92 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 3.02 ohms at 15.4 kHz and a phase angle of -71.28 degrees at 3.6 kHz. Sensitivity averages 89.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz.

Close-miked response of the ASW 2500, normalized to the average level from 40 to 80 Hz, indicates that the lower -3dB point is at 31 Hz and the -6dB point is at 25 Hz with the EQ switch set to A. The upper -3dB point is at 161 Hz with the low-pass control set to maximum.—AJ
