BenQ Launches Projector for Open-World Gaming
The X3000i (shown above) is a 4K DLP model with an LED light source that’s spec’d for 3,000 lumens light output and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. BenQ’s TK700 is a lamp-driven 4K DLP model spec’d for 3,200 lumens and 96% coverage of the Rec.709 color space. Both projectors are HDR10-capable and support a 100-inch screen size from an approximate 8 to 11-foot distance.
Both new models accept a 4K/120Hz input signal from the latest PS5 and Xbox Series X game consoles, though BenQ suggests you set the console for Auto output, which will prioritize a 120Hz refresh rate over 4K resolution for best motion performance. I caught a demonstration of the X3000i, a model that the company recommends for open-world games owing to its enhanced color capability and low input lag (8.3ms with a 1080p/120Hz source), and the performance was impressive with various PlayStation games BenQ used for the demo.
The 3000i will be available in by the end of March for $1,999, and the TK700 by the end of January for $1,499.
