According to Oppo:

The OPPO BDP-105 is designed from the ground up with components optimized for enhanced analog audio performance. Last year I purchased a Samsung 3D plasma package that included the entry-level 3d blue-ray player. The TV has worked flawlessly, but I can't say the same for the blue-ray player. I use movies from various sources (Redbox, library, friends) and this player doesn't work well if there's the slightest flaw on the surface of the disc. I've had to return discs because it simply would not play them correctly - starts and stop during playback. I would love to use a blue-ray player that actually plays real-world discs - discs that get handled and not kept in a dust proof vault! From all I've read about Oppo they make some of the finest disc players in the market, but not within my budget...yet.
