Chances are you have a touchscreen phone that uses some form of swipe or button press combo to unlock the phone for use. As you know, the oils on your fingers can leave smudges behind, and over time can leave a tell-tale treasure map of greasy DNA to tell people which buttons are used to unlock your phone.

Since the touchscreens on smart door locks are used far less frequently – and primarily for entering the home’s unlock code – this can be a real problem, and can leave smart lock owners vulnerable to something far more than someone checking out your emails and selfies. Fortunately Kwikset has added a new technology to foil any would-be fingerprint grabbers with a simple and foolproof method called SecureScreen.

As with most of the events that followed LG’s 8AM start on the annual Press Day, televisions were not first item on the bill of fare. LG’s first 15-minutes were devoted to home automation and health and fitness electronics. The last 15-minutes included (no joke) the launch of new LG washers, dryers, and refrigerators. But sandwiched in between were juicy bits on LG’s new OLED and 4K Ultra HDTVs...

Curved screen or flat? That’s a choice buyers of new high-end TVs need to make these days. There are compelling arguments to be made for either option, especially when you ramp up to larger screen sizes. What if you could have it both ways?

Wi-Fi dead spots can be a problem, especially if you have a sizeable home. To get wireless Internet connectivity to a bedroom at the opposite end from where your Wi-Fi router is set up very well might require a range extender—Linksys’ N600 PRO, for instance.

The MicroliteScreen is unlike most other examples breed. It’s composed of several layers that together are said to offer high light rejection when used in ambient lighting. Four versions are available, up to a gain of 3.3, with a half gain viewing angle said too be up to +/- 80 degrees—previously unheard of in a screen with a gain that high.
