This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the RVX-42 L/C/R (purple trace), RW-10 subwoofer (blue trace), and RSX-4 surround (red trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes.
The RVX-42's listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +1.12/–3.56 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +0.85/–3.99 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3dB point is at 102 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 89 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.34 ohms at 295 Hz and a phase angle of +64.65 degrees at 2.5 kHz.
The RSX-4's listening-window response measures +2.95/–1.77 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3dB point is at 97 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 88 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 5.12 ohms at 330 Hz and a phase angle of –63.74 degrees at 158 Hz.
The RW-10's close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3dB point is at 38 Hz and the –6dB point is at 30 Hz. The upper –3dB point is at 122 Hz using the LFE input.—MJP
