Samsung Gets Ready to Ship 77” QD-OLED TV

Samsung today announced that the 77-inch S95C Quantum Dot (QD) OLED model shown last month at CES 2022 will be available later this month for $4,500 and is now available for preorder at samsung.com.

To jumpstart sales and sweeten the deal, Samsung is throwing in free professional in-home installation — valued at $250 — for those who order the SC95C by February 20.

The larger screen size will join the award winning 55- and 65-inch S95 models introduced last year, recipients of Sound & Vision’s Overall Top Pick of the Year for 2022. The S95C was one of our CES 2023 Editor’s Picks, heralded as a TV that easily exceeds the DCI/P3 color gamut used to master most high dynamic range (HDR) content.

Building on the core strengths of traditional OLED, QD-OLED takes a good thing and makes it better, delivering not only enhanced color but improved brightness and contrast and a viewing angle that’s wider than standard OLED TVs.

The S95C is built around Samsung’s AI-driven Neural Quantum Processor, which optimizes picture quality scene by scene and automatically upscales lower-resolution content to 4K. With its Smart Hub, the TV caters to all forms of entertainment, especially gaming with a rated 0.1 millisecond response time, 144Hz refresh rate, and home-screen access to Samsung’s one-stop Gaming Hub for finding and playing a wide range of games.

To keep the TV super svelte and the wiring clean, electronics are offloaded to Samsung’s Slim One Connect box, which connects to the TV via one cable.

It’s interesting to note that Samsung is selling the 55- and 65-inch S95 models at the substantially discounted prices of $1,500 and $1,800, respectively — 31% and 40% off the regular prices.
