Revel Ultima2 Salon2 Speaker System HT Labs Measures

HT Labs Measures

L/R Sensitivity: 85 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz

Center Sensitivity: 88.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz

Surround Sensitivity: 87 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz

This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the Salon2 L/R (purple trace), B15 subwoofer (blue trace), Voice2 center channel (green trace), and Gem2 surround (red trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured with grills at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes.

The Salon2’s listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +0.99/–2.25 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. The –3dB point is at 25 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 21 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 5.68 ohms at 70 Hz and a phase angle of +34.04 degrees at 673 Hz.

The Voice2’s listening-window response measures +0.97/–1.96 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +1.23/–1.66 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3dB point is at 69 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 57 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.09 ohms at 94 Hz and a phase angle of +30.89 degrees at 1.5 kHz.

The Gem2’s listening-window response measures +1.30/–2.38 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3dB point is at 75 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 65 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 3.79 ohms at 531 Hz and a phase angle of +43.99 degrees at 2.9 kHz.

The B15’s close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3dB point is at 18 Hz and the –6dB point is at 16 Hz. The upper –3dB point is at 327 Hz with the Low Pass Filter switch set to Off.—MJP
