Optoma Unveils 4K Projector with Integrated Soundbar

Optoma today introduced an “all-in-one smart home entertainment system” in the form of an ultra-short-throw 4K laser projector featuring voice control and an integrated soundbar.

On display at CES 2019, the P1 Smart 4K UHD Laser Cinema has a rated brightness of 3,000 lumens, supports HDR10 and HLG high dynamic range (HDR), and can project images up to 10 feet (diagonal). But what sets the projector apart from others is the built-in “full-range” soundbar from its sister brand NuForce and integrated voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

The P1 is expected to sell for $2,999 when it becomes available mid-year.

In addition to Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus decoding, the soundbar provides access to Netflix, YouTube, and other streaming services through the Optoma Marketplace. Optoma’s InfoWall smart-home features can also be accessed via the Optoma Connect app.

"The P1 is the first entertainment product we've developed that we can confidently say stands to replace TVs in a large number of homes," said Brian Soto, Optoma’s head of product management.
