TiO’s StealthStream: Big Audio, Tiny Package
The heart of the system is the MC2 Master Coordinator which creates the TiO network on its own subnet for more reliable operation. The high-performance WiFi router has a 360-degree range of 450-feet, and can control up to 250 TiO Elements in any combination of wired and wireless. The MC2 features a 4-port Gigabit switch, but additional hard-wired TiO devices can be added by connecting any Gigabit network switch. Further USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports offer an easy way to add network storage for streaming to the audio system.
Local, in-room audio is handled by the StealthStream 1, an ultra-compact digital amplifier that can fit in the palm of your hand – or tuck inside the wall in place of an existing volume control – and is “the smallest full-features audio zone player in the world” according to TiO. The StealthStream 1 connects to the TiO network via wired or WiFi and supports streaming of lossless, uncompressed audio up to 192/24-bit. The streamer natively supports Sirius/XM, Rhapsody, Tune-In, and Spotify with others to come. The system also supports DLNA streaming and has Bluetooth built in allowing streaming of any audio source directly from any smart device. The streamer features a powered 100-watt digital amplifier and can be powered via 24-volt DC using the home’s existing speaker wiring. As a unique twist, a local Toslink optical digital audio input with auto sensing and auto A/B switching to be the perfect local amplifier for TV audio.
Further, TiO is looking to go beyond “just audio” with some automation control. The company’s app can also control lighting, HVAC, security, door locks, contact closure interfaces, and IP cameras, and includes some cool features like “Moods,” that can capture the current state of the home for easy, one-button recall. All TiO products are available and shipping now.
