Marantz just put a cherry on the top of its AV receiver lineup with the Cinema 30, a new flagship model loaded up with the bells and whistles enthusiasts love and the same classy look introduced with 2022’s Top Pick-rated Cinema 50.

The Cinema 30 joins the Cinema 50 ($2,500) and Cinema 40 ($3,500) with pricing set at $4,500 and delivery listed as “coming soon” on Marantz.com.

The parade of features begins with 11 channels of Class AB power and the capacity to process up to 13.4 channels (with an outboard amplifier), seven HDMI inputs (six of which are 8K-capable), support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+ high dynamic range (HDR), and processing for every Dolby and DTS surround-sound format you can think of, including immersive Dolby Atmos and DTS:X/DTS:X Pro object-based decoding. Processing for the technically proficient but considerably less popular channel-based Auro-3D immersive format is also on hand along with an IMAX Enhanced mode for playing IMAX-compatible content.

Rated power output with two channels driven is 140 watts into 8 ohms, which compares with 110 watts for the Cinema 50 and 125 watts for the Cinema 40, both of which have nine amplified channels.

The features list continues with a 32-bit ESS Sabre digital-to-analog converter (DAC), Audyssey MultiEQ XT32 room calibration with Audyssey Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume plus a Dirac Live upgrade option, compatibility with DSD audio, and streaming via the HEOS multiroom platform, AirPlay 2, and Bluetooth. Supported music services include Spotify Connect, Amazon Music HD, Tidal, Pandora, SiriusXM, and TuneIn internet radio.

The flagship is Roon Tested and equipped with an FM tuner but drops the AM section provided in the Cinema 40, one step down in the line. Size-wise, the Cinema 30 is slightly larger than the Cinema 40 and, at 43 pounds, weighs about 10 pounds more.

At the core of the Cinema 30 are two performance enhancing features: an Analog Devices Sharc dual DSP chipset and Marantz’s HDMA SA-2 preamp stage for “warmth and musicality.”

Among the Cinema 30’s vast array of analog and digital connections is a moving magnet (MM) phono, four independent subwoofer outputs, and a front-panel USB-A input. The receiver is compatible with voice control via Alexa, Google, and Apple HomePod and can be controlled via the Marantz AVR App or the supplied pre-programmed learning remote.

The AVR is available in black or silver and covered by a five-year warranty.
