Kaleidescape has launched the Strato E. This new entry-level movie player is made for home, marine, and commercial theaters. The Strato E provides reference-quality 4K video output, supporting SDR, HDR10, and Dolby Vision formats.

The Strato E joins Kaleidescape’s existing lineup of players, complementing the Strato M, a 2K reference player, and the flagship Strato V 4K player. The Strato C model continues to serve compatibility with legacy Kaleidescape systems.

"Our goal is to bring Kaleidescape to more customers by offering a range of movie players tailored to diverse needs," said Tayloe Stansbury, Kaleidescape’s Chairman and CEO. "The Strato E maintains high performance and quality but at a more accessible price point."

As a standalone unit, the Strato E provides storage for approximately six movies on an internal solid-state drive, downloading content in roughly ten minutes using gigabit Ethernet connections. The user interface is optimized for smaller libraries, automatically managing storage by offloading watched movies 48 hours after viewing. Users retain access to purchased movies, which can be re-downloaded anytime. For larger collections, Strato E players can be combined with Kaleidescape’s Terra Prime movie servers.

The Kaleidescape platform offers a digital store with thousands of 4K and HD movies, TV shows, and concerts, all available for download in lossless audio and reference video quality, avoiding the buffering associated with streaming.
