Germany’s ELAC Previews Follow-up to Entry-Level Debut Series Speakers
The new Debut 3.0 series comprises two floor-standing speakers, two bookshelf models, two center-channel speakers, and a Dolby Atmos-enabled/on-wall speaker at prices ranging from $300 for the lower priced center speaker to $1,000/pair for the flagship tower model.
All of the models include a new aluminum-dome tweeter with an integrated aluminum phase plug designed to control dispersion throughout the listening environment and a new aramid fiber woofer featuring a high stiffness-to-weight ratio to “ensure tight and accurate bass response.”
Other common elements include easy-to-remove magnetic grilles and internal cabinet bracing to minimize unwanted vibrations that can have a negative impact on the sound. ELAC says all of the new models are also designed to be easy to drive, allowing each model to “achieve the same volume level as lower impedance speakers” with the same power input.
Starting at the top, the Debut 3.0 series offers a choice between two floorstanding models: the DF63-BK with three 6.5-inch woofers ($1,000/pair) and the DF53-BK with three 5.25-inch woofers ($900/pair). The two bookshelf models are both two-way designs: the DB63-BK with a 6.5-inch woofer ($450/pair) and the DB53-BK with a 5.25-inch woofer ($350/pair).
The two center-channel models are the DC63-BK with two 6.5-inch woofers ($400) and the DC53-BK with two 5.25-inch woofers ($300). Rounding out the line is the two-way Dolby Atmos-enabled DA43-BK speaker featuring an angled baffle, which can be used atop one of the bookshelf or tower models or mounted on a wall ($500/pair).
All Debut 3.0 series speakers are finished in black ash. For more information, visit elac.com.
