Definitive Technology Announces Studio 3D Mini Soundbar System

Definitive Technology today announced the addition of a compact soundbar system to its lineup. The Studio 3D Mini features Dolby Atmos and DTS:X processing, 4K/Dolby Vision video pass-through, and HDMI eARC connectivity. It’s also the first Def Tech product to feature HEOS Built-in, letting users stream audio from multiple services as well as link the soundbar wirelessly to a HEOS-enabled multiroom setup.

“Like all Definitive Technology products, the Studio Series sound bars are well known for their huge, dynamic sound and modern design. The Studio 3D Mini delivers the same massive cinematic listening experience as its predecessors while giving users more flexibility in terms of placement due to its small size,” said Michael McCole, senior product marketing manager at Sound United. “We added object-oriented audio processing from Dolby and DTS and designed a clever driver layout so the Studio 3D Mini could deliver surprisingly convincing surround sound from a sound bar that disappears beneath the television.”

Standing just two inches high and measuring 26 inches wide, the Studio 3D Mini sports the same angled design and brushed aluminum finishes as other speakers in the brand’s lineup. The 4.1-channel soundbar features a six-driver array with aluminum tweeters, and it comes with an equally compact 8-inch wireless subwoofer. Along with its HDMI eARC output, other connections include HDMI, optical digital, and 3.5mm analog inputs plus a USB port. AirPlay 2 allows for direct wireless streaming from an iPhone or iPad, and Amazon Alexa, Apple Siri, and Google Assistant lets users carry out basic commands to adjust volume, skip tracks, and start/ stop playback using voice commands.

The Studio 3D Mini Sound Bar System will be available for $899 starting in January 2021 and comes with a 5-year warranty.
