Atlantic Tech Unwraps 14 Products at CEDIA 2018

Atlantic Technology is showcasing 14 new products at CEDIA Expo, representing the company’s “largest product expansion ever.”

The lineup runs the gamut from the recently introduced Gatecrasher 1 smart speaker to wireless speakers and headphones, a wireless integrated amp, a new flagship tower speaker, two subwoofers, and six outdoor speakers.

The latest addition to Atlantic’s conspicuously named Gatecrasher series, the Gatecrasher 3 soundbar system supports wireless multiroom streaming and combines six 2.5-inch woofers with three 0.75-inch aluminum-dome tweeters and a 150-watt Class D amplifier in an extruded-aluminum cabinet. The system includes a standalone wireless subwoofer. Pricing and availability was not announced.

For wireless home theater action, Atlantic’s new FS-252 wireless speakers are acoustically matched to the soundbar. Each speaker is powered by a 25-watt amp and supports Bluetooth/aptX streaming as well as SKAA wireless technology, which claims a 150-foot transmission range with low latency. The FS-252 will sell for $749/pair when it ships in November.

Atlantic is also showing the FS-H582 wireless headphones, which support SKAA and Bluetooth/aptX streaming. The battery-powered phones feature 2-inch “woofers” and proprietary ceramic tweeters, and include a detachable 3.5 mm minijack audio cable. Pricing and availability was not announced.

Rounding out the wireless offerings is the 2 x 100-watt STA-200 wireless integrated amp, which transmits and receives SKAA signals in addition to supporting Bluetooth/aptX streaming. Measuring only 10 x 10 x 4 inches, the amp is outfitted with RCA and 3.5mm analog inputs plus RCA pre-outs and banana terminals for driving active or passive speakers. The amp includes an infrared (IR) remote control and will sell for $449 when it ships in November.

The most striking new product on display is the 8600eLR tower speaker, featuring four 8-inch fiberglass woofers and two 5.25-inch fiberglass midrange drivers in a D'Appolito array with a new magnesium/aluminum-alloy dome tweeter — all mounted in an MDF cabinet finished with an ebony gloss veneer. The speaker incorporates a 4th-order Butterworth asymmetrical, time-aligned Linkwitz-Riley crossover with bi-wire inputs and boasts a sensitivity spec of 91 dB with power handling up to 300 watts. The 8600eLR is slated to ship in November at $2,599 each.

Atlantic has expanded its subwoofer lineup with two high-power models: The 500-watt SBT-500 ($1,799), featuring two 10-inch drivers, and the 1,000-watt SBT-1000 ($2,499), featuring two 12-inch drivers. Both are due out in November and boast a heavy-duty MDF cabinet finished in black gloss or satin, line and XLR inputs, a 0-180⁰ phase control, adjustable crossover, auto on/off, volume, bypass, and a DSP-controlled equalizer.

Atlantic is also taking the party outdoors with six high-efficiency outdoor speakers. All are two-way designs with a 4-, 5.25-, or 6.5-inch fiberglass woofer and 1-inch titanium-dome tweeter. The speakers boast low-end performance between 45 and 65 Hz (–2 dB) and 90 dB sensitivity. Each model comes in two versions: One is 4 ohms for constant current applications, the other is 70/100 volts with three transformer settings for constant voltage applications. Pricing and availability was not announced but all models will be available with a white or black finish.
