PSB’s SubSeries BP7: Compact Cabinet, Controlled Bass

PSB Speakers has launched the SubSeries BP7 powered subwoofer, a compact sealed model with a bipolar driver array and a 350-watt universal class-D (UCD) amplifier. Pricing is $1,199 USD (tariff adjusted) and $1,399 CAD.

For AV use, the BP7’s small footprint—10.6" × 11.4" × 10.6"—and sealed, portless enclosure are ideal for flexible placement and achieving consistent in-room behavior. Two opposing 6.5" woven carbon-fiber woofers work in alignment to minimize cabinet vibration and distortion.

Integration features are straightforward: stereo line-level inputs, a 12 V trigger for system power-up, a phase switch (0–180°), and auto standby with ultra-low power consumption. Claimed response is 28 Hz–150 Hz (±3 dB) with LF cutoff at 25 Hz (–10 dB).

PSB says the BP7 draws on more than 50 years of Canadian acoustic development and uses custom drivers with 1.5" voice coils, and oversized magnets.

For multi-sub systems, the BP7’s sealed design and compact volume make distributed placement more practical, especially in modest-sized rooms, while the bipolar configuration keeps vibrations in check when multiple units are used. Finish options are Satin Black or Satin White, with polished aluminum trim rings.
