Soundboks: Our Bluetooth Party Speaker Will Rock Your World

Soundboks, a young company specializing in Bluetooth speakers with offices in Denmark and Santa Monica, promises to rock your world with an industrial-grade speaker designed to keep the tunes cranking all day and all night, whether you’re partying in your backyard or hanging at an outdoor festival.

With two 10-inch woofers and a 1-inch compression tweeter in a ported cabinet, the Soundboks 4 is built to be jostled around and withstand the elements thanks to its shock-absorbing silicone corners, removable dent-proof steel grille, and weatherproof IP-65 rating.

The speaker is also meant to play low (down to 40 Hz) and loud (126 dB max) and employs three 72-watt RMS Class D amplifiers to make that happen.

Even more enticing, the speaker draws on state-of-the-art lithium iron phosphate battery technology to keep the party going for up to 40 hours on a single charge, though not at max volume (that reduces play time to 6 hours). And, if 40 hours isn’t enough, the battery is removable so you can swap it out for one that is fully-charged. Additional batteries are available at extra cost.

Soundboks prides itself on delivering exceptional sound quality at high volumes and uses “state-of-the-art components and advanced acoustic engineering techniques,” including powerful digital signal processing, to achieve this goal. And if you’re for an even bigger, more immersive sound experience, the Soundboks 4 can be paired with up to four other speakers with low latency.

The speaker can be controlled via the Soundboks App, which includes sound profiles and customizable EQ settings, instant-pairing, and a control panel for using the speaker with a guitar or other instrument.

Standing just shy of 26 inches tall, the Soundboks 4 provides two balanced (XLR and ¼-inch) inputs plus a 3.5mm minijack stereo input and output. The speaker sells for $999 and is available in a black on black or black on gray color scheme. For more information, visit soundboks.com.
