Riva Audio’s Theaterbar Ready for Action
Like the company’s wireless multiroom speakers, the Theaterbar can accept music streamed via Airplay, Chromecast built-in, Spotify Connect, Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi via the Riva Wand app. The eleven-channel soundbar has built-in Dolby TrueHD and DTS-Master Audio HD processing, and it provides both HDMI and optical digital inputs to connect external sources.
The soundbar’s cabinet features internal wood bracing to hold the 11 active drivers and 6 passive radiators. Dedicated wireless channels can be tapped to stream surround information to pairs of Arena or Festival speakers used as rear speakers, and the company also offers an optional wireless subwoofer.
The Theaterbar should be available in September for $599. Pricing hasn’t been set for the wireless subwoofer, but it should arrive in the $399-499 range.
