Nakamichi Lives On...But No Dragon Cassette Decks

Remember when Nakamichi was a leading maker of cassette decks? No? Maybe you haven't been around long enough! I even owned a 582 once, but recently donated it to charity as I hadn't used it in years (and actually rarely did)—cassettes simply weren't good enough, though nobody did them better than Nakamichi.

But there be no Dragons here. Nakamichi was exhibiting among the vendors of automotive electronics.

I just smiled, thinking fondly, of my youth where I dreamed that some day I could afford the Dragon. $2500 back in the 80s was a lot of money for piece of equipment. That with some TDK MA-XG Metal Oxide tapes, Polk SDA-SRS speakers, and an unknown amp, I would be in heaven.
