The Slim Base is the middle kid of three flattish soundbars from Nakamichi. This 2.1-channel model combines two 2.75-inch front drivers with a bottom-firing woofer. Connectivity is HDMI and surround procesing is DTS TruSurround. The smaller model is the SoundBase and the larger one is the Extreme 4.1, which as the name suggests steps up to 4.1 channels including wireless sub. Prices are $149, $199, and $299, considerably less than the cost of a vintage Nakamichi Dragon cassette deck in good working order. Shipping in April.
