MySmartBlinds Automation Kits Are Simple, Solar, Smart and Super-Affordable

MySmartBlinds new Home Automation Kit for roller shades is a followup to the company's existing Home Automation Kit for window blinds. Both kits are designed for DIY retrofits that turn existing manually operated blinds/shades into wirelessly controlled, motorized blinds/shades. MySmartBlinds says the kits are easy-to-install and require no tools. A free control app is available for Android and iOS, and it allows users to view and control the connected smart blinds/shades in all of the rooms in the home. The app also lets users: enable an Energy Savings mode; customize preferred room temperature settings; receive battery level updates; set daily and weekly schedules; and turn on sun-tracking to maintain light levels.

The new MySmartBlinds hub will provide connectivity with existing home automation systems and services, including Samsung SmartThings, Amazon Alexa, and Google Home. The Home Automation Kit for roller shades is expected to be available in Q2 of 2018 and will retail for $99. Complete roller shades from MySmartBlinds will also be available starting at $299. The Smart Hub is expected to ship by March 2018 for $89.

The MySmartBlinds Solar Panel attaches to the window-facing side of the blinds/shades and eliminates the need for recharging the automation kit's battery. Panels are available now for $45/each. The peel-and-stick MySmartBlinds Smart Switch controls up to 8 blinds in a group and up to 4 groups per switch using Bluetooth. Smart Switches are available now for $60/each.
