LG To Introduce QNED Mini-LED TVs

The Virtual CES 2021 TV news is starting to roll in. First up, LG, which has announced it will release a series of “QNED” Mini-LED TVs as its 2021 LCD TV lineup’s flagship offering. There will be 10 new 4K and 8K Mini-LED models in all, with screen sizes up to 86 inches.

LG’s new Mini-LED TVs feature quantum dots for enhanced color reproduction and have a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz (on select models). According to the company, the advanced backlighting tech comprises up to around 30,000 LEDs, with up to 2,500 local dimming zones on the 86-inch 8K model.

“Our new QNED Mini LED series is a premium home entertainment option that expands and improves the LCD TV space and gives consumers another terrific viewing choice,” said Nam Ho-jun, senior vice president of R&D at LG’s Home Entertainment Company. “These TVs deliver an experience that set them apart from other LCD TVs and speak to our commitment to innovation and pushing the standard forward.”
