"If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball." Everyone’s favorite dodgeball coach, Patches O’Houlihan (Rip Torn) is back in this unrated edition of Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story to once again drill into our heads the five Ds of dodgeball: dodge, duck, dip, dive, and...dodge. In order to save their cherished gym, Peter La Fleur (Vince Vaughn) and the Average Joes must compete in this ultimate sport of "violence, exclusion, and degradation" against the egotistical White Goodman (Ben Stiller) and his Purple Cobras.

The 2.35:1 anamorphic picture is noise-free, so you won’t be distracted from all the flying balls and over-the-top antics that are Ben Stiller’s signature. The colors are strong and show off those extravagant costumes brilliantly. The Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack is great. The roar of the crowd (and your speakers) will have you convinced that you’re right on the court with the rest of the Average Joes.

The DVD is worth buying for the extras alone. They include uncensored scenes; an all-new commentary by Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, and director/writer Rawson Marshall Thurber; nine deleted/extended scenes and an alternate ending; uncensored footage of the Dodgeball Dancers; featurettes; theatrical trailers; and my all-time favorite, the bloopers/gag reel.

If you’re in the mood for good, old-fashioned slapstick comedy nicely blended with random humor, you can always rely on Ben Stiller to deliver. Don’t be afraid to grab life by the ball—and this DVD while you’re at it.
