Epson Announces 3 Advanced Laser Projectors
The Q-Series comprises three models that will be officially unveiled in early September at CEDIA Expo 2024 in Denver:
• The QB1000 ($8,000) has a brightness rating of 3,300 lumens and will be available in September.
• The QL3000 ($15,000) is rated for up to 6,000 lumens and slated to deliver in October.
• The QL7000 ($30,000) boasts a rated brightness of up to 10,000 lumens and is also slated to deliver in October.
“The Q-Series is the first 4K 3LCD laser projector lineup of its kind to accommodate a variety of viewing environments with color (IDMS-rated) and white brightness (ISO-rated) performance” in this price range, Epson said.
The projectors feature Epson’s 32-bit QZX picture processor and employ pixel-shifting technology to achieve 4K resolution. The QB1000 incorporates Epson’s 15-element VRX lens, while the QL3000 and QL7000 are “body only” models that come without a lens; both are compatible with the entire Epson family of short- and long-throw lenses and use Epson’s Double Micro-Lens Array technologies to produce more than 8.29 million pixels on screens up to 300 inches (diagonal).
All three models are ISF-certified and support HDR10 and HLG high dynamic range (HDR) processing (plus HDR10+ for the QB1000) and provide two 40-Gbps HDMI 2.1 ports (with ARC and eARC in the case of the QB1000). Other common features include 4K HDR gaming support up to 120 Hz at 4:2:2 in 8-, 10-, and 12-bit color modes, a 20,000-hour laser light source, 3-axis motorized lens shift with memory presets to simplify setup, and a 3-year limited warranty with full unit replacement and free lifetime technical phone support.
The QB1000 is built with a focus on gaming. In addition to supporting 4K resolution at 120 frames per second, it boasts input lag times of less than 20 milliseconds and features auto low latency mode (ALLM).
All models are compatible with Control4, Crestron, and PJ Link smart-home control and offered in black or white. For more information, visit epson.com.
