While Emotiva's powered speakers and pre-pro aren't new, they did combine to provide one of the few surround demos at the Venetian. The Stealth 6 speakers are biamplified with 100 watts going to the ribbon tweeter and another 150 to the woofer. They're priced per speaker, at $539/each, so there's nothing to prevent you from assembling a five- or seven-channel config. The other star was Emotiva's XMC-1 pre-pro ($1999) featuring Dirac Live room correction. The 5.1 demo, though brief and low-key, sounded promising.
