Denon's Flagship AVR Goes to 11 Amp Channels

The Denon AVR-X6300H is the brand's first AVR to have 11 amp channels, making it a logical choice for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X 7.1.4 use.

This flagship receiver also has Denon's multi-room HEOS technology built in and shows up in the system as a HEOS device. And it is the only receiver in the Denon line (or anywhere else, to our knowledge) that is manufactured in Japan. Also shown was the nine-channel AVR-X4300H. It has nine amp channels, making it eligible for Atmos 5.1.4.

While a similarly equipped Marantz receiver was shown, the SR7011, it has nine amp channels. There is not an 11-channel counterpart to the top-of-the-line Denon. However, along with the AV7703 pre-pro, it does have 11.2-channel Atmos and DTS:X processing. The Marantz models also boast Audyssey MultEQ XT32 room correction, the best variation with the highest filter resolution.

Prices: AVR-X6300H, $2199; AVR-X4300H, $1499.
