Blumoo $99 Appcessory Universal System Control

If you haven’t got thousands or even hundreds of dollars to shell out for a smart, universal control system or you’ve been looking for a way to add app-based control to you theater or you wanted to add Bluetooth audio streaming to a legacy system, Blumoo might be exactly what you’re looking for.

Blumoo is a new venture from Flyover Innovations that launched its new universal home entertainment “appcessory” at CES. This small unit features an IR output along with mini-jack analog audio connection and combines wireless app-based control and wireless Bluetooth streaming into a single device that will have a preloaded code IR code library for more than 200,000 devices, with more being added all the time.

The Blumoo control app can run on iOS and Android and lets users stream virtually any music source for playback on their existing audio system. Up to five devices can be paired with Blumoo at a time, so you won’t have to worry about taking your phone to work and leaving the family stranded without control.

The GUI is customizable - allowing users to relocate buttons as desired and even create macros - and all programming done directly on the phone/tablet. The Blumoo reps on hand said typical programming should take less than 15 minutes. The app even includes electronic program guide data to help you find what you want to watch on TV. The company claims that the Bluetooth has a range up to 150-feet line of site enabling you to walk around the home and still enjoy all of the features.

Blumoo will be available in Q1 for $99.
