Bluesound Celebrates 10th Anniversary with NODE X Wireless Streamer

Bluesound, a leading name in hi-res multiroom streaming, today introduced the NODE X streamer, a limited Anniversary Edition product marking the company's 10-year milestone.

The NODE X, which comes in a distinct silver finish, is an enhanced iteration of the brand's acclaimed NODE hi-res player. With revamped components, it aims to redefine the benchmarks of audio performance and functionality for a product of its type.

The performance enhancements in the NODE X are largely due to the inclusion of the ESS 9028Q2M Sabre DAC. This component is popular among audiophiles for its perceived musicality, nearly non-existent clock jitter, ultra-low noise, and extensive dynamic range.

Dreamy Streamer
The NODE X also features a high-end headphone amplifier powered by state-of-the-art THX AAA (Achromatic Audio Amplifier) technology. With patented feed-forward error correction, it delivers low levels of noise, distortion, and power consumption. Equipped with a ¼-inch headphone jack, the NODE X promises an elevated headphone listening experience.

For connectivity, the NODE X has upgraded dual-band Wi-Fi. It provides access to over 20 built-in music services and countless internet radio stations. Users can either stream directly on the NODE X or play from a personal digital music library stored on a computer—or external drive via the user-friendly BluOS app.

The app is compatible with iOS, Android, and Mac or PC computers. The NODE X supports multiple input methods such as HDMI eARC, Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet, Apple AirPlay 2, aptX HD Bluetooth, and USB Type A, making it a versatile device for any music lover's needs.

Bluesound's NODE X is also designed with multiroom functionality in mind. It can be grouped with several Bluesound speakers to form a comprehensive multiroom music system. The NODE X can be controlled directly from a smart device or computer, through touch panel controls with presets, voice assistants like Apple’s Siri, Amazon Alexa, and Google Assistant, or via the included RC1 remote control. Moreover, it can be integrated into a smart home system with full-feature drivers for Crestron, Control4, URC, RTI, ELAN, and other home control systems.

A Decade in the Making
According to Bluesound product manager Matt Simmonds, the NODE X represents a culmination of a decade of audio excellence and wireless hi-res streaming leadership. "The NODE X integrates some of the best aspects of the critically acclaimed, iconic NODE’s product design — our flagship model — and takes 'just add streaming' to new performance heights for the emerging generation of audiophiles," he said. "We are eager to see how our customers utilize the NODE X with their top-tier performance headphones."

The NODE X is currently available for purchase at USD $749 / CAD $999 from selected retailers and through Bluesound's official website.
